About Universities in Chile international students
Chile has quite a number of universities of which most are located in Santiago, the capital city, arguably include two of the most prestigious in the whole continent; the University of Chile and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile are found here. Many courses and programs aimed at international students are available.
In total, there are around 24 state universities in Chile, plus a rising number of private institutions. Chile enjoys rapidly improving transport infrastructure, lower crime rates than most South American countries, and a number of murals, museums, and art galleries, not to mention remarkable architecture. Popular student cities include Santiago, Valdivia, Valparaiso, and Concepion.
Note that tuition fees at universities in Chile are not so cheap and affordable especially when compared to other good study destinations in South America. You may be tempted to think that this only applies to private universities but surprisingly, is the same issue for public institutions. Updated, students studying at private institutions now pay about US$5,500 on average per year.
