About National University of Tainan:

National University of Tainan was established during the time of Japanese rule in 1899 and was given the name of Tainan Normal School. The university did not develop its current name until 2004. National University of Tainan is a university with a small enrolment of students, with just over 500 currently enrolled.

It was established by the Dutch East India Company as a trading and administrative centre and was known as Fort Zeelandia.
