There are a number of airports in Mongolia, both international and regional. Below are some of the airports in Mongolia
Buyant-Ukhaa International AirportAirport
This is Mangolia’s Largest Airport formerly known as Chinggis Khaan International Airport and also referred as Ulaanbaatar Airport. It serves Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, is about 18 km from the city center and is hub for MIAT Mongolian Airlines, Hunnu Air and Aero Mongolia. It is Owned by Government of Mongolia through the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia. The airport currently has 1 terminal and the head office of Aero Mongolia airline is on the third floor of the airport building.
Choibalsan Airport
It is a public airport located in Choibalsan which is the capital of Dornod Province in Mongolia. It is served by Hunnu airlines. The new passenger building was completed in 2001.
Dalanzadgad Airport
It is a public airport located in Dalanzadgad, which is the capital of Ömnögovi Province in Mongolia. It is served by Aero Mongolia and Hunnu Air. Dalanzadgad Airport is classified as an international airport but there are no scheduled flights outside Mongolia.
Donoi Airport
It is a public airport located in Uliastai which is the capital of Zavkhan Province in Mongolia. It is also called New Uliastai Airport and is served by Aero Mongolia.
Khanbumbat Airport
Khanbumbat Airport which is also known as the Oyu Tolgoi Airport is an airport in Khanbogd. It is the second airport with regards to passenger traffic after Buyant-Ukhaa International Airport. The airport serves aproximately 100,000 passengers annually. The airport is of international standards, has a runway of 3259 m, and is able to receive Boeing-737 and Airbus A320 aircraft. The terminal building is able to cater for up to 240 passengers per hour. A total of 80,000 passengers arrived at the airport In 2013.
Ulaangom Airport
It is a public airport located 13 km northwest of Ulaangom, a city in the Uvs Province. It handled a total of approximately 14,669 passengers in 2001. It is served by Aero Mongolia, and Hunnu Air
Olgii Airport
This is a public airport located in Olgii which is the capital of Bayan-Ölgii Province . it is served by Aero Mongolia, and Hunnu Air
