About the city:

Copiapó is a city in northern Chile’s Atacama Desert. It prospered after silver was found at nearby Chañarcillo in the 19th century. Nearby, the Casa de los Hermanos Matta houses the Atacama Regional Museum with a collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts and exhibits on the area’s mining history.
